Get involved!

If you would like to support our soup kitchen, The Gathering Place, there are a couple ways to do that. One is by donating funds. These are used to help buy meat and fresh vegetables, as well as whatever other food is needed. You can also donate food. This can save volunteers’ time, as they don’t need to go out and buy it themselves. There is also the possibility of volunteering your time. If you love to cook, or you just want help serve food, talk to Phyllis at church.

How we are making a difference in the community:

The Gathering Place
Many people are unaware of the poverty in the city. The Gathering Place aims to meet this need by providing full, healthy meals twice a week. The Gathering Place is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Seniors’ Services
Many seniors are unable to go to church every week, and many of them don’t have visitors very often. Several members of the church go to some of the Seniors’ homes in Chateauguay once a month to give them a church service and to visit, talk with, and pray for them.

Houses of Hope

Houses of Hope are Bible studies in homes in different communities that use a DVD lesson made by Pastor Shewchuk. The main focus of these Bible studies is fellowship, prayer, and mutual support.
There is also a House of Hope style Bible study at the church on Monday nights at 7:30 pm.

Coming soon: Congregations of Hope

Congregations of Hope will be services held on other campuses hooked up by video link to the main campus on Sunday evenings.

Seminars

Pastor Shewchuk will be conducting seminars open to the community on various topics such as marriage enrichment, basic budgeting, and addictions. Check the Events tab for dates and times of future events.
